Night Fever but no BeeGees

Between 3 and 4 I wake myself up shivering, I mean bad, if I was to hold a bowl of eggs they'd be scrambled without needing a whisk.

I don't know what is going on so I put my dressing gown on and get back under the covers and try to get warm, well, the shivering got worse so I pressed the buzzer to call the Nurse who straight away does my obs and checks my temperature.

41.6 and back onto an ECG cos I'm Tachycardic again.

I'm coughing aswel now which is new.

The nurse puts a new canula in my arm, it's a bit messy and bloody because I'm stripped off and shivering and can't stay still but it's in and I'm put on IV paracetamol, more bloods and a covid swab, the doctor is paged but I'm not expecting a visit.

My temperature is coming down, I've stopped shivering and my heart is no longer trying to beat out of my chest but I'm knackered. I get up to go to the toilet, I make it there, albeit a bit weak and dizzy, it's the way back that is the problem and I only make it halfway before I'm hanging on the wall for dear life, someone grabs the nearest chair (a swivel chair) and sits me on it whilst somebody goes to get a proper hospital chair, my head is spinning, can't keep my eyes open and I'm sweating, it is pouring out of me and I'm soaked, I'm transferred into the proper chair and wheeled back to my bed, I'm told to stay sat for now.

Half 10 now, just woken up again, I don't remember how but I'm back in bed. Still not seen a doctor, covid test was negative but temperature is still 38ish so more IV paracetamol.

Brother in Law comes up to see me with my Oldest Son, whilst they are here I have another visit from Medical photography taking pictures for dermatology, they can make it down here but a doctor can't.

See the wife again, again I'm not much company, I'm trying to be strong because I know she's going through it aswel but I'm struggling and knowing she's tired and struggling too just makes it worse.

I'm glad I get to see her though, it's the highlight of my day.
